Andrea Ward is an NYC-based contemporary choreographer who recently finished a commission with the Columbia Ballet Collaborative at Columbia University / Barnard College. She also presented her work in the NYC Choreographer?s Carnival at Le Poisson Rouge. Recently she performed for a Celine Dion music video. Andrea?s movement possesses an innate versatility in musicality and emotional expression. She currently dances for Enzo Celli and has studied with Medhi Walerski, Sidra Bell, Brian Arias, Cindy Salgado of Kidd Pivot, Winifred Burnet-Smith of Hofesh Shechter, and Niharika Senepati of Chunky Move. Her underwater dance films have screened in New York, Paris, London, and Sweden. Music plays a central role in her work, and she oftentimes composes her own music for choreography. Further, she?s performed her work as a featured artist in TEDx at the Phillips Center, as a guest speaker at the Digital Worlds Institute, and as a resident choreographer at the Harn Museum / Center for World Arts in Florida. Her choreography has also been performed at the prelude for Alvin Ailey.
